Some notes on Animation Points (AP) and Control Zones (CZ):
The AI will use Animation Points under specific conditions:
- The AP must match the AI's state: Relaxed, Cautious, Searching or In Combat. The thumbnails below show in red which states (Relaxed, Cautious, Searching, Combat) can target each AP.
AI starts the map in Relaxed state. When they notice something's up, they go into Cautious state. When engaging enemies, they are in Combat, and Searching probably happens after they lost their target.
- The AI must be able to reach the AP (both the Navmesh and CZ must allow reaching it)
- The AP mustn't be on a cooldown (after an AP is done playing, it will go on a cooldown timer preventing its use for that duration)
When placed in a Control Zone, an AP can be used by AI either tied to that CZ, or not tied to a CZ at all.
